The introduction of identity verification is one of the key changes to UK company law under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. This landmark legislation gave Companies House new and enhanced powers to help disrupt economic crime and support economic growth.

As an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) in the UK, Saltgate is pleased to confirm that we can assist our clients with the Identity Verification (IDV) requirements under ECCTA as detailed below:

  • Conduct identity verification for company directors, Persons with Significant Control (PSCs), and relevant officers of the Client.
  • Ensure compliance with Companies House verification standards.
  • Maintain secure records of identity checks for regulatory audits and as required by Applicable Law.
  • Submit necessary filings/details to Companies House on behalf of the Client.

Saltgate’s one-off fees for IDV under ECCTA requirements are £200 per identity check.

Whilst the IDV requirement is expected to become mandatory this Autumn, early adoption is being encouraged and Saltgate has already completed IDVs for Directors with Companies House.
