Saltgate's Tim McBain to take on ultramarathon in Wales

Tim McBain not only heads up Saltgate’s IT department, but is also an impressive long distance runner.

He’s partial to a physical endurance challenge as well, having an ultramarathon or two under his belt.

Tim’s next challenge is on the horizon – the Ultra X Wales race next month. It’s a five-day event that covers 250km in distance and over 9000m in elevation.

The challenge follows many famous trails along the northern Cambrian mountains to southern Snowdonia in Wales.

Tim’s undertaking this mammoth challenge to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society UK to help fund research and raise awareness of the debilitating degenerative disease.

A cause close to his heart, his wife Donna has lived with MS and the symptoms that come with it for 19 years.

Tim hopes that support for the Multiple Sclerosis Society UK will fund the development of medications to help ease the symptoms, and eventually find a cure.
