Simon Riley

Simon Riley, Chief Executive Officer

Simon joined Saltgate at its inception in 2007 and has been instrumental in growing and shaping the business into what it is today. As Chief Executive Officer, based in Jersey, Simon leads the firm’s strategic direction and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Saltgate’s operations. He is deeply involved in driving the firm’s growth and ensuring the delivery of best-in-class service across core asset classes.

Simon began his career as a Chartered Accountant, working at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte. With over 20 years’ experience in the alternative asset fund industry, he specialises in servicing a wide variety of investment structures in Jersey, Luxembourg, and the UK, particularly in real estate, debt, and private equity.

Simon is a Chartered Accountant. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Nottingham.

Hannah Culshaw

Hannah Culshaw, Chief Operating Officer

Hannah joined Saltgate at its inception in 2007 and has been a driving force in the firm’s operational excellence. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversees the internal finance, IT, and compliance teams, combining her expertise in compliance, regulatory, and governance with a commitment to client service.

Hannah has over 15 years’ administration and transactional experience, including board roles for several high-profile fund manager and corporate holding entities. She specialises in corporate governance, risk, and compliance. Prior to Saltgate, she spent three years with a leading administration firm serving alternative asset funds.

She is a CGI Associate, having completed the ICSA professional qualification, completed the International Compliance Association Diploma in Compliance and holds a BA upper class single honours degree in Hispanic Studies from University of Nottingham.

Chief People Officer

Ali French

Ali French, Chief People Officer

Ali joined Saltgate in 2020 and has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s culture and people proposition. As Chief People Officer, she drives the people strategy, focusing on talent development to ensure best-in-class service for clients. She oversees our People function, as well as ESG, Marketing and Communications and she is also heavily involved in propelling Saltgate’s commercial strategy forwards.

Ali began her career as an investment banker, spending 11 years at Goldman Sachs. She then joined the US hedge fund Citadel as a senior talent strategist. Prior to joining Saltgate, she ran her own talent strategy consultancy.

She holds an LLB Law degree from the University of Birmingham.

John Cosnett

John Cosnett, Managing Director

John joined Saltgate during its inception in October 2007, helping to establish the firm’s identity and operational standards. As Managing Director in Jersey, he is responsible for service delivery and client relationship management for Private Equity clients.

Before Saltgate, John spent over five years with a leading third-party fund administrator, managing European private equity funds with over €25bn in committed capital. He also worked in Equity Capital Markets at Paribas and Goldman Sachs in London.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Auditing and Business Management University of Port Elizabeth.

Lizette Morales

Lizette Morales, Managing Director

Lizette joined Saltgate in 2013 and is a Managing Director in Jersey. She leads client teams, focusing on delivering seamless, high-quality service and upholding Saltgate’s reputation.

Lizette has over 12 years of experience in private equity and real estate financial reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, and various local GAAP. She qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 2003 with KPMG.

Lizette graduated Cum Laude from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.

Julian Withrington

Julian Withrington, Head of London

Julian joined Saltgate in 2018 and is the Head of London, responsible for managing and overseeing service delivery in the London office. He focuses on client service excellence and leveraging technology to improve processes.

Julian has over 20 years of experience in private equity and real estate fund administration, leading teams and managing a wide range of clients in both onshore and offshore markets.

He is an FCA qualified accountant and holds a degree in Economics & Politics from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Johanna Karhukorpi

Johanna Karhukorpi, Client Director

Johanna joined Saltgate in 2018 and has been pivotal in managing private equity and real estate fund structures. As a Client Director based in Jersey, she acts as a director of several fund structures, ensuring robust governance and client service.

Johanna brings over 16 years of experience with various fund structures, including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Fund of Funds, Real Estate Funds, and Corporate Holding Structures. She qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 2011.

Johanna holds an M.Sc. in International Business from Turku School of Economics and Business Administration, Finland, a Master’s Degree in English, French, and Political Science, and a post-graduate degree of Licentiate in Philosophy in English from the University of Turku, Finland.

Rob Boylan

Robert Boylan, Client Director

Robert joined Saltgate in 2018 and is a Client Director in Jersey, specialising in Private Equity and Debt funds. He leads client engagements and ensures high standards in fund administration.
 
Robert has over 13 years of experience in the offshore finance industry and eight years in alternative asset fund structures. Before Saltgate, he led the Financial Reporting and Risk function of a Jersey-based alternative investment fund promoter.

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in 2009 and holds a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.

Director, Jersey Client Services

Peaches Nulud

Peaches is Director, Jersey Client Services and oversees our teams’ service delivery, ensuring it’s of the highest quality. She joined Saltgate in 2014 , assuming the the role of Head of Fund Accounting before becoming Director. Peaches has over 17 years of experience in private equity, debt, and property funds. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy.

Ajay Golam

Ajay, based in our London office, joined Saltgate in May 2016. As Director, he oversees the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of the accounting services provided to our clients. Ajay has over ten years of fund accounting, administration (including company secretary) experience of various UK and Global offshore alternative asset investment and associated structures in the UK, Guernsey and Mauritius. Ajay also has over 12 years of experience in general accounting in sectors such as Banking, Engineering, Gambling, Fintech and Telecommunication. He is an FCCA qualified accountant.

Marion Broch

Marion Broch, Head of Luxembourg

Marion joined Saltgate in 2024 and has played a key role in enhancing client service delivery in Luxembourg. As Head of Client Service Delivery, she oversees Registrar and Transfer Agency, Domiciliation & Corporate Services, Investor Communication, Accounting, and Regulatory Reporting for corporate and fund clients. Marion is a Director on several mandates, in addition to serving as an Authorised Manager for Saltgate S.A., forming part of the Daily Management Team.

Marion’s career spans 15 years in Asset Management in Luxembourg, including five years as an Investment Fund auditor in the Big Four and 10 years as Head of Governance and Conducting Officer at a large US Asset Manager.

She holds a Master’s in Science Management, specialising in Accounting-Finance and Audit-Control from IESEG School of Management.

Antonio Pimentel

Antonio joined Saltgate in 2024 and leads Jersey’s CDD function. As a Director, he and his team ensure Saltgate works to the highest ethical standards as a trusted partner to our clients. Antonio brings 12 years’ of experience to his role specialising in AML, KYC and Regulatory. His strong technical skills and experience grew from working across Banking, Fund, Trust and Depositary Services throughout his career. Antonio has a degree in Economics from the University of Lisbon and a diploma in Anti-Money Laundering from ICA.

Jean-Philippe Vuillemin

Jean-Philippe Vuillemin, Head of Compliance

Jean-Philippe joined Saltgate in 2019 and is Head of Compliance, overseeing regulatory adherence and risk management across the business, ensuring robust governance and client confidence.

Jean-Philippe has more than 20 years’ experience in compliance and financial crime prevention, including senior roles at leading international service providers. Before Saltgate, he was at Link Asset Services (formerly part of Capita Plc), where he managed compliance activities for fund clients and held positions as Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Compliance Officer, and Money Laundering Reporting Officer on regulated entities. Before that, he was a principal person at Northern Trust in Jersey, serving on the boards of funds and Managed Entities. His earlier career includes roles with Keldon Consultant, Carey Olsen’s litigation department, and Mourant International Finance Administration (now State Street).

He holds two French LL.M. degrees in Law, the International Diploma in Financial Crime Prevention from the International Compliance Association, and is an Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute.

Michala Wright

Michala oversees and drives the People function and proposition at Saltgate. Based in Jersey, she uses her expertise to deliver solutions that support the people strategy across our jurisdictions, as well as leading on HR digitalisation. Before joining Saltgate in 2020, Michala worked internationally, locally, and as part of the Big Four as HR Manager. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Jonathon Woolf

Jonathon Woolf, Head of Innovation

Jonathon joined Saltgate in 2016 and has been instrumental in developing and implementing best-in-class technology for client service. As Head of Innovation, based in Jersey, he leads the adoption of systems such as Investran and Yardi to enhance operational efficiency.
 
Jonathon’s career spans over 25 years in the finance industry, covering audit, accounting, and administration. Before joining Saltgate, he served as Head of Client Systems and led client service teams before moving into Saltgate’s IT function.
 
He holds a BA (Honours) Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of East London and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Marion joined Saltgate in 2024 and has played a key role in enhancing client service delivery in Luxembourg. Nicolas Descharmes

Nicolas Descharmes, Authorised Manager, Compliance Officer

Nicolas joined Saltgate in November 2024 and is an Authorised Manager, Compliance Officer, and Responsible du Respect in Luxembourg. He leads compliance initiatives with a focus on AML/CFT.

Nicolas has 15 years’ experience in compliance, including roles as Director, Compliance Officer & Responsible du Controle for specialised Professionals of the Financial Sector, and as an outsourced Responsible du Controle/Responsible du Respect and board member for funds and investment fund managers.

He holds a Master’s degree in Private Law and Criminal Sciences (Penal Law), a Master’s in Wealth Engineering Negotiation, and a university diploma in Criminology from Université Nancy II (France).

Head of Depositary, Luxembourg

Thibault Guenser

Thibault Guenser, Head of Depositary, Luxembourg

Thibault joined Saltgate in 2022 and leads the Depositary function in Luxembourg as an Authorised Manager. He is responsible for overseeing depositary services for AIFs and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Thibault has over 14 years of experience in the Luxembourg Fund Industry, with more than 10 years specialising in depositary services. Prior to Saltgate, he managed AIFMD projects and depository controls at BNP Paribas Wealth Management and ABN Amro Bank Luxembourg.

He holds a Master’s degree in International Business, Finance, and Management from ICN Business School.

Luxembourg Commercial Director

Stephen Dowling

Stephen Dowling, Luxembourg Commercial Director

Stephen joined Saltgate in 2025 and has been instrumental in driving business development and client experience in Luxembourg. As Commercial Director, he is responsible for expanding the client base and enhancing service delivery. He also serves as an Authorised Manager for Saltgate S.A., forming part of the Daily Management Team.

Stephen brings over 23 years of experience in the Finance and Funds industry. Before Saltgate, he managed teams and strategic clients at a leading third-party Fund Administrator in Luxembourg, and previously worked as a portfolio manager in Ireland with NAMA and in London for a pan-European investment manager.

He is an ACCA qualified accountant with a Bachelor of Business Studies from WIT Ireland.
